I once heard a wonderful story from Robert Schuller on his Christian TV program that illustrated this principle of stewardship. He told of a time during his childhood when his grandfather was working a farm that was only just breaking even financially. He asked his grandfather why he didn't just sell the farm because they would make more money if they did. His grandfather looked at the young boy and gave him a lesson he would never forget. When God gave us this farm he entrusted us with a stewardship to help feed His people, not just so we could make money."
